A friendly gift

My friend and neighbor, Kris, gave me a bunch of her hydrangeas to paint. They are, in reality, bluer than shown here. Oh well. Image size 14x9. Watercolor and sumi on rice paper.

Posting on the blog helps me see what more needs to be done to a painting. This one needs some fine-tuning on the chickadee's legs and also on the background. Colors are not so dark as shown.
